The debates are coming up next week. Hopefully, John Kerry won't make the same mistakes Al Gore made with George W. Bush. Let's face it, TV viewers are only into the issues to a certain extent. The "like" factor is more important to some than the actual substance. Plus, Bush has the everyday man thing down, which may make Kerry seem pompous.
I find it sometimes amusing how people forget that Bush is a child of privilege.
Interesting article this week in the NY times highlights exactly what it is that makes Bush seem to get his point across while Kerry seems to beat around the Bush (pun intended).

Rough week here in NY...wonder why? catch this drift.
Monday...tenia que tomar el tren de la 14 Union Sq a la 42nd Street, y me topo con 3 guardias con sus big ass m-16's. Bumped into them and wondered...what the hell is going on. They seemed tense, and somebody at the other end of their radio seemed to be giving them instructions since they were like looking for somebody...they vanished in the crowd though, but I recalled seeing them before, when the alerts went crazy right after 9/11.
Tuesday...one hour delays for me to take a bus from Porth Authority to NJ. The weather was fair, so there shouldn't had been any rain related problems. Later I heard that there was a bomb threat at the Mariot hotel near my house, right infront of the Turnpike and that the exit was closed causing the delay.
Wednesday morning...taking the bus home we get stopped in the middle of the highway for a crew of the NJ police Dept. They searched every bus. Dog scan, yelling Sarg, everything...it took 5 mins only...and I made it to my job on time...but...as i told a fellow commuter, are things getting rough or is it me?
Thursday...walking home from my job, I had to do a run around because 34th street was closed....34th Street!...yeah, the section where macy's and H&M is at!...why? the cops would not say, nor would the news...but on Friday I heard that there was a bomb threat on Macy's. So...I wondered....is my route right on the bulls eye of terrorist attacs or what?? The empire state building is on my way...and my bus stop is on 42nd ST, where most tourists spend time acting stupid infront of the MTV studios and where some of the most important financial institutions have offices.
Friday...dad picked me up from work, I slept through my morning commute and took a taxi to work...the more i get into these thoughts of being in danger the less I create. And then people wonder why I dont hang out much and enjoy my gettaways out of this damn city so much.
